The GSAT 2024 examination is an admission test for students to enroll in various UG and PG science courses offered by the GITAM Institute of Science, Vishakhapatnam.
What is the GSAT Exam?
Through the exam, candidates can also get admission into various disciplines of the courses, like B.Sc., BCA, M.Sc., MCA, etc.
To be eligible for admission, candidates should therefore apply for the test through the official website. Before proceeding with the application form filling, candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the authority.
Admission is also given to the students according to their performance in the test.
GSAT Exam Date
GSAT 2023 (GITAM Science Admission Test) is a university-level entrance test conducted to shortlist candidates for admissions.
Its application form will be released in both online and offline modes on April 24, 2023. While the online test would be taken from April 28th–30th, 2023,.
The admit card release, however, will take place around May 2023 for both candidates.
The admissions test is also expected to be conducted in May 2024 for candidates, respectively.
Candidates who, therefore, meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the exam as per the specified schedule. And therefore, expect to see their results in the 3rd or last weeks of May, respectively.
GSAT Eligibility Criteria 2024
To take this test, candidates must therefore be eligible. Hence, you will have to meet some criteria, depending on your specific course and level.
The GSAT 2024 eligibility criteria for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are therefore provided below:
For undergraduate courses:
BCA: Candidates who have cleared their 12th or equivalent exam are eligible to apply.
BEM (Bachelor of Environmental Management): Those who have passed intermediate, class 12th, vocational, or equivalent can apply for BEM.
B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, and Computer Science) and B.Sc. (Mathematics, Electronics, and Computer Science): The applicants should have passed their class 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.
B.Sc. (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science): Requires a pass in class 12 or equivalent exam with mathematics as a subject.
BSc (Hons) Chemistry: The candidates who have cleared their 12th standard exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology or equivalent are eligible.
B.Sc (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bioinformatics), B.Sc (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics/Microbiology), B.Sc (Hons) Food Technology and Integrated M.Sc Biotechnology: Applicants should have passed their class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology or D.Pharmacy or vocational course with Fisheries/Seriaculture/Dairying/D.MLT.
For postgraduate courses:
M.Sc. Applied Mathematics: The candidates who have done a B.Sc. with mathematics as one of the subjects and have studied mathematics & physical sciences at the intermediate level are eligible.
M.Sc. Physics: Requires a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics, Physics, or any other allied subject.
MSc Electronic Science: Applicants should have done B.Sc in mathematics, physics, Physics/ Electronics and any other allied subjects.
M.Sc. Chemistry (Analytical/Organic): Those who hold a B.Sc. degree with Chemistry as one of the subjects are eligible.
M.Sc Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Food Science & Technology/Bioinformatics: B.Sc with Life Sciences/BEM/B.Sc Food Science/Home Science/B.Tech Biotechnology and allied subjects/B.Pharma/BPT/MLT/BDS/B.Sc with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/BCA with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks is mandatory.
MSc Environmental Science: Candidates should hold a BEM, B.Sc. in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences, a B.Tech., or a B.Pharma degree to be eligible.
M.Sc. Data Science and MCA: Candidates with any degree in mathematics at the 12th grade or degree level or equivalent can apply.
The GSAT Exam Syllabus
The syllabus for the test for admission in the undergraduate program is as per the curriculum specified for classes 11 and 12.
Candidates, therefore, need to study physics, chemistry, mathematics, or biology subjects in classes 11 and 12.
Those seeking admission in PG courses need to study for the exam as per the relevant UG syllabus for the course they want to enroll in.
GSAT Application Form 2024
Candidates for the 2024 GSAT Exam can apply online. Apart from this, they can also download the application form or obtain it through the post.
Online applications will be available on the website official page. To get the application through the post, the candidates have to register with the necessary information on the registration page.
After entering the required information into the form, you upload the required documents, necessary certificates, etc., in PDF format.
Also, a scanned recent photograph (size should not exceed 50 KB) of the candidates needs to be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format.
Note: Make sure to have the application fee of Rs. 1,200 to pay during the application procedure to register easily.
